Spring
Spring brings wildflowers to the clifftop paths and pleasantly warm days, making it a great time for walking and golf. The sea is still cool, so a heated villa pool is well worth having.
Summer
July and August are the Algarve's peak months: long, hot days, lively towns and busy beaches. The Atlantic stays refreshing, and the sea breeze takes the edge off the heat.
Villas for the school holidays book up early, especially larger homes and those within walking distance of the beach.
Autumn and winter
September and October are a sweet spot, with warm sea temperatures and quieter beaches. Through the winter, the Algarve is one of mainland Europe's mildest regions. It's a popular choice for golf and for longer stays in the sun.
